Collectible types

Independent collectible guides (100% Guides and Into Indie Games, both posted after launch) use the same ten-type list. Steam public achievement text matches eight of those types.

The 100% Guides index covers the regions. The early locations below follow Into Indie Games; individual pickup coverage here is partial.

When to collect

Both major guides say you can return after the story. Movement unlocks - especially grapple and later air tools - open rooms that look empty on a first visit. Play the walkthrough for the route, then come back with the abilities you actually have.

100% Guides also says none of these pickups are permanently missable because levels remain open. A conflicting trophy page uses “lossable” language. Until a patch note or a second studio FAQ settles it, treat return access as the working assumption and still smash obvious story objects such as the Tick Town Temporal Anchor while you are there.

Hub and path checklist

Tick Town is the hub. Community maps then split the campaign into four travel directions that line up with the developer’s “four worlds” FAQ, without turning scenery adjectives into proper world titles:

  • Volcano path: Ezarus Forest, Scorched Grove, Starstone Mines, Mount Cinder. Prison of the Beast is flagged as a fight space without collectibles.
  • Sea path: Meridian Village, Lantern Port, Clockwork Academy and its wings, Great Library. Scriptorium of the Twelve is a fight space.
  • Hills path: Canal Hamlet, Celestial Kingdom, Royal Highroads, Auric Palace. Veiled Chambers is a fight space.
  • Desert path: Deepthorne, Stonetusk Canyon, Clockmaker’s Rest, Desert of the Last Memory. Chronos Aeternum is a fight space.

Wolker4’s 100% video then runs a Tick Town cleanup after credits, followed by a region-by-region sweep and a stained-glass pass through Scorched Grove, Meridian Village, Great Library, and Clockwork Academy. Use that as a cleanup order, not as proof of per-room counts.

Tick Town: first pickups

  • Balcony coin: from fast travel, take the descending path on the right. At the first turn, grind the short rail to the balcony on the left.
  • Temple coin: continue across the bridge and look beneath the temple along the trail.
  • Music box: follow that path to its end, cross the right-hand bridge and inspect the box between three benches.
  • Desert-path coin: take the Desert exit left of fast travel, cross the water by rail, climb the stairs and follow the left path beneath the rock. Look behind the tree trunk on the right.
  • Town kitten: return to that trunk and look to the right. Chase the kitten to catch it.
  • Sea-path coin: take the Sea path near the Inn, cross with the balloons and grind the rail beside the steps to the balcony.

Ezarus Forest: early exploration

The first town contains an Echo along the ledges on the left and another inside the house with a plush toy on the table. Farther along, the roofs lead to two rails. The right rail leads toward an open balcony with a coin chest; the other continues out of town toward moving pillars and another coin.

For a Rainbow Ingot, Into Indie Games describes a chest reached by grappling across two balloons over water beyond the purple pillars with stained-glass windows. Return with grapple if you cannot cross. Its orange-crystal instructions use inconsistent attack names, so an exact button input is not given here.

Purchases and hand-ins outside area counters

Buy the two dye flasks and two Rainbow Ingots stocked beside Tick Town fast travel. Some music boxes are story rewards, so a complete set also requires story progression. Return music boxes to Arpeggio upstairs at the Inn and exchange N1-C0ins for cards with N1-C0 on the Desert path.

For the final stained-glass interaction, see Master XII’s secret.

Secrets overlap

Wally hiding spots and other “secret” objects share this page’s secrets job so a second URL is not needed. Public Steam text for No peeking! is the Wally row. Dye flasks and Echoes stay here because 100% players still want them even when platinum does not.

FAQ

Which collectibles can I skip for Steam achievements?

Dye flasks and Echoes. Everything else in the ten-type list maps onto a Steam row.

How many kittens are there?

100% Guides says five: one in Tick Town and one in each of the four main regions. Catching them unlocks extra skins at Tailord.
